In an early 20th century building in the center of Milan, the studio had the opportunity to completely renovate an apartment. The project upset it from the point of view of distribution and space, giving greater importance to the living area rather than to the sleeping area, and moreover giving greater attention to research and use of finishing materials so as to bring the style of the house closer to the time when the building was built. For the living area the choice fell on a marble grit floor, tiles used a lot in the interiors of the Milanese houses of the beginning of the last century, giving the environment a stately appearance, as well as in the bathroom where big marble effect stoneware slabs were chosen for the finishes. In the room it was decided to give importance to the elements discovered during construction: the wooden structure of the roof which gives to the environment a more “rustic” tone but also and above all a sense of warmth. Another discovery was the decoration on the walls of the room for which it was decided to leave a memory in the corner near the window. Finally, to conclude the sleeping area the choice for the floor fell on the recovery cement tiles that definitely match the environment and the style of the house.
